Clearwater Beach has always been one of those spots I keep coming back to. On my latest trip with my daughters (16, 13 and 12), we stayed at the Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach and right away, it just felt easy. Comfortable, welcoming and well-located. All the things I’m looking for when I travel, especially with kids in tow.

Whether you’re planning a romantic weekend, a work conference by the beach or a family getaway like mine, the Wyndham Grand delivers. Let me walk you through what makes this hotel stand out and why I’d recommend it.

Are you ready to explore more beach vacations? Let us inspire you!

Perfectly Located for Everything You Want to Do

Let’s start with what matters most when booking a beach getaway: location. The Wyndham Grand is situated right in the heart of Clearwater Beach, and trust me, location is everything!

  • Just steps from Pier 60 and its nightly sunset celebration
  • Surrounded by some of the best restaurants in the area
  • Easy walking distance to shops, water activities, and ice cream stops (an essential when traveling with kids)

Whether we were heading out for dinner or just wandering along the beach, everything was within reach and that made the entire trip more relaxing.

Room for Everyone: Spacious Family Rooms and Kid-Friendly Options

We stayed in the Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach Parlor Suite, which gave us the extra space we needed. With three girls and all the beach-day chaos that comes with them, having room to spread out was a game-changer. I mean, I travel with two teenagers and a pre-teen….enough said.

SheBuysTravel Tip: Skip the airport stress — Lyft’s On-Time Pickup Promise guarantees your scheduled ride shows up within 10 minutes of your pickup time. If it doesn’t? You’ll get Lyft Cash. You can schedule up to 90 days in advance and even lock in your rate. Use code SBT25 to save 25% off ONE scheduled ride to the airport.

They also offer bunk bed rooms, which I’m obsessed with. If you’re traveling with younger kids, these rooms are a home run. The setup is fun, functional, and gives families a little more breathing room.

SheBuysTravel Tip: Book a Gulf View room facing the ocean. The sunset views are worth it.

Family-Friendly Perks and Activities

One of the things I loved most was that the Wyndham Grand wasn’t just “okay” for kids, it was actively welcoming to families.

Here are a few of the kid-friendly perks we discovered:

  • Daily activities like crafts and games near the pool (especially during summer months)
  • Live music and summer concerts that make evenings feel festive without even leaving the property
  • A vibe that feels upscale but never stuffy (aka, I didn’t stress if my kids got a little sandy in the lobby)

Pool Days Without the Hassle of Sand

Don’t get me wrong, we spent plenty of time on Clearwater Beach. But after a few hours in the sand, sometimes you just want a chair, a cold drink and less cleanup.

The hotel’s pool area was ideal:

  • Plenty of lounge chairs (we never had to fight for one!)
  • Poolside bar service for snacks and drinks
  • Shaded areas for when the Florida sun hits peak intensity (and trust me, it will)

And the best part? The beach is still just steps away when you’re ready to jump back into the ocean.

Resort Fee Perks That Actually Matter

One more thing worth noting, the resort fee actually adds value here, especially if you’re planning to spend time by the beach. For $35 a day, here’s what’s included:

  • 2 beach chairs and 1 umbrella on the beach (a huge perk!)
  • A signature welcome beverage when you check in
  • Kids 5 and under eat free per paying adult for breakfast at Ocean Hai
  • 10% off retail purchases at Pallavi Luxury Spa
  • Dining discount passport for on-site restaurants
  • Complimentary coffee in the lobby daily from 3–6 a.m.
  • Two refillable aluminum bottled waters
  • Access to the 24-hour fitness center
  • and more…

Considering beach chair and umbrella rentals on Clearwater Beach can run $40–$50 a day, having them included in the resort fee is a solid deal, especially in such a prime beachfront location. You’re not paying extra every morning or hunting for a good spot, it’s already taken care of. I don’t know about you, but towing things to the beach with kids is not the highlight of my vacation.

Coffee First, Always

I’m the kind of traveler who maps out coffee options before I even book the hotel and the Wyndham Grand gets major points for this one.

They have an on-site coffee shop that opens early and serves everything from lattes to pastries. It became our morning ritual. I’d grab a latte with my girls and we’d head out for a day of fun with caffeine in hand.

Valet, Staff & That Gorgeous Lobby Vibe

Parking can be a hassle at Clearwater Beach, but the valet service here was seamless.

But the real standout? The staff. Every single person we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and genuinely seemed to care that we were enjoying our stay.

And while I don’t usually mention lobbies in reviews, I have to give this one a shoutout. The lobby area became our go-to spot for everything:

  • Morning coffee chats
  • Midday breaks from the heat
  • Post-dinner hangs while the kids scrolled and I sipped a glass of wine

It’s bright, modern and just feels good to be in.

Why I’ll Keep Coming Back

Clearwater Beach has a special place in my heart and now so does the Wyndham Grand.

It checked every box:

  • Ideal for families but also totally suitable for solo or couples’ travel
  • Walkable to everything that makes Clearwater great
  • Comfortable, spacious and genuinely welcoming

If you’re looking for a hotel that blends practicality with just the right touch of luxury, this is it. It gets the SheBuysTravel stamp of approval.
