Crystal-clear waters. Miles of velvet sand. Blazing sunsets. These timeless treasures define the perfect beach honeymoon. Atlantis Paradise Island Bahamas delivers all of the above plus world-renowned amenities and a truly amazing  atmosphere. Here are seven reasons why Atlantis is the ultimate couples getaway.

Atlantis is a Romantic Paradise Built for Two

What makes family-friendly Atlantis ideal for couples? This vast Paradise Island resort has endless opportunities for romance. You can celebrate your arrival with a champagne toast on your oceanview balcony. Or book a couples massage for an indulgent treat. And I think a romantic getaway isn’t complete until there’s an after-dinner moonlit stroll along the beach.

Atlantis makes it super easy to plan a paradise-perfect trip. The Rest of Our Lives package offers a suite of memorable add-ons for honeymooners, including breakfast in bed and an awesome dolphin kayak expedition.

Unique and Unforgettable Experiences Set Atlantis Apart

It’s hard to tell one beach resort from another. After I’ve looked at a few of them online, the rooms, pools and palm-shaded cabanas all start to look alike.

But Atlantis is not a cookie-cutter island hotel. Did you know it’s home to one of the largest marine habitats in the world? More than 50,000 aquatic animals representing 250 marine species live in resort waters. Stroll through The Dig, an imaginative reconstruction of the Lost City of Atlantis. Or swim with dolphins at Dolphin Cay, a world-class marine rescue and rehabilitation facility.

The 141-acre Aquaventure Water Park is another iconic attraction you’ll explore together during your Atlantis couples getaway. Take the daring Challenger body slide, side by side. Then retreat to one of the 11 pools before navigating the Rapids River. Whether you spend a few hours or a couple of days at Aquaventure, you’ll make unforgettable memories.

Casual, Chic and Everything in Between: Atlantis’ Dress Code Explained

You’ve just spent months worrying over gowns, dresses, suits, ties, shoes and veils. Now that it’s time for your honeymoon, relax and stop stressing about your wardrobe.

Atlantis’ vibe is resort casual. Flip-flops and beachwear by day; sundresses, linen separates and sandals for nights.

For upscale dining venues like  Nobu or Fish by José Andrés, dress up a bit but you don’t need a gown…unless you want to. It’s your vacation. Wear what makes you feel beautiful and comfortable.

Several of the resort restaurants offer gourmet dining experiences, including legendary Nobu and notable newcomer Paranza.

The Atlantis Casino, with its windows, skylights and lagoons, provides a unique gaming experience. It’s one of the biggest casinos in the Caribbean, offering slot machines, table games and a newly-renovated sports book.

Atlantis is Easy to Get To, Hard to Leave

Many exotic destinations for couples are really far from everywhere. Hubby and I dream about booking an anniversary stay in an overwater bungalow in The Maldives. But we keep it on the “maybe, some day” list because we dread the nearly 30 hours of travel to get there from our New York home.

By contrast, nine US airlines offer nonstop service from 18 cities to Nassau’s Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS). Flight time from NY’s JFK airport on JetBlue is slightly over two hours. Take an early morning flight and you can have your toes in the sand by noon.

Additional Info About Getting to Atlantis:

  • The Nassau airport offers Mobile Passport Control. Download the app to get through Customs faster.
  • Atlantis is located on Paradise Island. It takes approximately 30 minutes to drive the 15 km from the airport.
  • Book your airport transfers through the resort. Options include private or shared service in shuttles, town cars, limos and accessible vans.

Sadly, every honeymoon must come to an end. Ease the pain by planning your first anniversary return trip. Subscribe to the Atlantis newsletter to receive the latest offers as they become available.
